Elmer Carl Laedtke
MilitaryBud Laedtke enlisted in March 1942, going first to Aircraft Mecahnics' School in Chicago before transferring to the Aviation Cadet programme and being commissioned in June 1943. He was assigned to the 91st BG 322nd Sqdn and flew 36 combat missions out of Bassingbourn.
He remained in the Air Force until 1969 - retiring with the rank of Colonel -and was afterwards Professor Emeritus at Northern Virginia Community College. He died on 24th August 2003 and was survived by his wife May and his son.
Awards: DFC, AM (3OLC), AFC, EAME (3BS), WWII Victory.
