MilitaryWhile serving as Navigator in B-17G 43-37613 on 16-Aug-44 the aircraft was attacked by fighters and received severe damage near the target of Halle, Germany. The pilot managed to fly the aircraft back to England and landed at Boreham, Essex, UK. He was uninjured and returned to Duty (RTD).
