Edward R Kregor

Military

Edward R. Kregor flew one bombing mission (an ammunitions plant) before contracting spinal meningitis. When he recovered 3 months later, the B24s had been painted black and were used in the carpetbagger missions. Ed was the co-pilot in 34 of these missions. We have his journal of those missions. Because Ed never received the Cote d'Guere, he received the French Legion of Honor Medal on Jan. 11, 2015. Ed died on July 5, 2015 at the age of 96, survived by 4 children, 12 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.
