Chaplain of 303BG, 8AF USAAF. Duties included writing to family members of the deceased. One such instance regarded Sgt Sheppard Kerman, who crashed near Ohrum on a mission to Magdeburg 28 September 1944. In the second and third of four letters, dated 8 December 1944 and 22 October 1944 respectively, his family were led to believe he was still alive.
