Minneapolis, Minnesota 22 May 1924 - 22 May 1924 Douglas Warren Mortensen was born 22 May 1924 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. His family later moved to Seattle, Washington, where Douglas attended high school and graduated with the 1942 Class of Highline High School. After he entered World War II,  his parents and some siblings moved from Seattle to Port Orchard, Washington.
