Sergeant Charles R. Marshall was born November 25, 1924. His next of kin were his wife, Dixie Marshall, his son, Robert D. Marshall, and his parents, Charles and Florence Marshall. His hometown was Martin, Kentucky. 
On July 21, 1944, he was a gunner aboard B-24 tail #42-50433 of the 392nd Bomb Group, 579th Bomb Squadron, when it went down over Drosling, Germany. 
His remains were never recovered.
