RTD. B-17F 42-3544 'Stars and Stripes'. On 5 Jan 1944, ,after T/O on mission to Bordeaux, FR, a/c reached altitude of 200 ft and wing dropped and the a/c struck the ground. Two bombs exploded and all were killed except the tail gunner. MACR 4477.
