Arthur Barlowe B MacLemore

MacLemore unusually learned to fly in Germany before the war when he was studying medicine in that country. He initially joined the RAF, training in Canada and going to England in 1940. When the USA entered the war he transferred to the Air Corps and was assigned to the 91st BG.
During his time as a flier he was to survive 7 plane crashes - 3 of which were ditchings in the English Channel and North Sea. Post war a trustee of the 91st BG Memorial Association he tragically lost his life in a fire at his home in March 1969.
