July 4, 1944, on mission to FR in B-24#42-52688 ÒThe Paper DollÓ was hit by flak which teared through the cockpit . Both pilots were seriously injured. Pilot Pearson become unconscious. The engineer Sergeant Neiden replaced him and assisted CP Orlosky returneto England with a wheels up landing at Kent. Both pilots were hospitalized and recovered from injuries. T. J. Pearson crew.
