Delivered Louisville 22/5/45; Syracuse 10/5/45; Olmstead 11/45; Assigned Caribbean AC, Morrison Fd 26/2/46; Barksdale 26/3/47; Indianopolis 20/8/47; loaned to USN 5/9/47 [83999] Edwards AFB, as test bed for Allison engine and other turbo-props, some going on to C-130 Hercules, P3V Orion etc; designated NB-17G, permanent test aircraft 1955; Eglin 4/58 and scrapped.
