42-63762 Hells Express

26th June 1943: B-24 (Liberator) 42-63762 "Hells Express" of 409 Bomb Squadron, 93rd Bomb Group crashed at Little Compton, South Warwickshire. The aircraft was flying back from Portreath in Cornwall the day after all B-24s in England flew there en-route to North Africa for the famous Ploesti raid. The pilot Lieutenant J Pryor and 9 others were killed with a further 4 injured.
