On 13-Nov-43 the aircraft, piloted by 2LT John Lanphier, was attacked and shot down by German fighters over Dalfsen, Holland while on a mission to escort B-17 bombers attacking at Bremen, Germany. 2LT Lamphier was Killed in Action (KIA) 1KIA MACR 1288.
