This photo is of the damage inflicted on the aircraft by fire from an enemy Fw190 on May 11, 1944. The pilot, Lt. Bill Streit, made it safely back to Raydon. Photo was likely taken outside the southern half of Hangar Number 2 (352nd FS section) at Raydon.

Revisions
Corrected attribution of name 'Lucky' and 'The Mole' to this aircraft. It was Lt. Streit's aircraft and named 'Scotty Bill' by him - though Lt. Avakian was lost flying it. For 'Lucky' and 'The Mole' see a/c 42-8396 coded SX-T (Father Bill appears to be a misreading of 'Scotty Bill'
