Assigned to 755BS, 458BG, 8AF USAAF. Failed to Return (FTR) - Aircraft was lost due to mechanical failure on 22-Mar-44 mission to bomb the BMW engine factory at Basdorf outside Berlin,Germany. Eight of the crew became POW's and one was killed because he didn't have the right type of harness for his parachute and went down with the plane. MACR 3555.
