Missing in Action Berlin-Erkner 8 March 1944 with Pilot Thomas A. Pirtle; Co-pilot: Paul H. Schlintz; Navigator: Milton W. Stern; Flight engineer/top turret gunner: George W. Cassody; Radio Operator: Robert W. Burrows; Left Waist gunner: James C. Estep Jr; Right Waist gunner: James W. Warren; Tail gunner: William L. Bull (8 Prisoner of War). Bombardier: Harry F. Cooper helped by Dutch and Belgian patriots, hidden in the Netherlands and Belgium, liberated in Liège, back in England 15 September 1944. Ball turret gunner William C. Kinney, also evaded, helped by Dutch and Belgian underground members and liberated by Canadian troops in the Neeroeteren area, Belgium on 22 September 1944 (back in UK 24/09/1944). Hit by enemy aircraft, crashed near the Oude Molen (Old Mill), Deventer to Holten Road, near Lettele, OverIjssel Province, The Netherlands. Missing Air Crew Report - MACR 3002.
