Delivered Lowry 7/8/42; Hamilton 6/10/42; Assigned 403BS/43BG Mareeba, Aus 5/11/42; then 65BS; Milne Bay, NG 23/11/42; Mareeba, Aus 21/1/43; Port Moresby, NG 11/5/43; Missing in Action over Lae, NG 15/9/43 with Howard G. Eberly, Co-pilot: Edgar Townsend, Navigator: George Stacey, Bombardier: Chas ranker, Flight engineer/top turret gunner: Delmar Dotson, Radio Operator: Joe Ferraiolo, Ball turret gunner: Arthur Jingozian, Waist gunner: Jennings Messer, Waist gunner: Watson Hall, photo/tg-Peter Owens (10KIA, remains recovered and taken home 1996). The last B-17 lost in Pacific, the wreck being found in 1992 at 8,900 ft on a Wau mountain 13 miles SW of Lae. Missing Air Crew Report 648. LISTEN HERE, TOJO.
