Crashed

near Hockering, UK 30 June 1944 While on a check flight CPT Edward Giorchino made a normal gear down approach to Runway 27. He came in a little high and added throttle to go around. He continued on a heading of 270 degrees and crashed in a small field 2.5 miles west of the airfield. The aircraft hit two trees. The aircraft was totally destroyed and CPT Giorchino was killed.
