B-24D Liberator 42-40743 567th BS, 389th BG, 8th AF. Aircraft took part in the 1st Aug 43 low-level mission to Ploesti, Romania, piloted by Dale L Sisson, returned safely to Libya.

Crew had 7 missions, including Ploesti. Transferred to the 814th BS, for special training as "Pathfinders", where they had 10 missions, then transferred back to 389th Bomb Group, where they completed 30 missions in May 1944.

Was declared 'War-Weary' and transferred to the 492nd Bomb Group on 15 May 1944 for use as the formation assembly ship. She was finally scrapped in 1945.
