This aircraft was originally assigned to 133 Squadron RAF but transferred to 8th Air Force, 4th Fighter Group, 336 Fighter Squadron on 22-August-1942. The aircraft was flown by 2Lt Dennis D. Smith in escort of American bombers attacking the German airfield of Porjeau at Morlaix, France. The aircraft apparently ran out of fuel and crashed near Morlaix, France and Lt. Smith was KIA.
