Boeing B-17 No. 44-6412 of the 483 Bomb Group breaks up the unequal fight with two fighters in Koniówce Podhale. The commander Everett J. Robson and 4 airmen are taken into captivity. Five of their colleagues saved thanks to the heroism of the inhabitants of Orava, attached to the 1st Regiment of Riflemen AK, until January 1945

Seen through a 433rd Bomb Group B-17 Flying Fortress' strike camera, a 816th Bomb Squadron B-17 Flying Fortress (serial number 42-5786) nicknamed "Whizzer II" goes down over Nis in Yugoslavia on the 15th of April 1944 in a gout of flame after taking a direct flak hit.
