A/C propeller struck ground while strafing an airdrome at St. Dizier. With his prop no longer turning, witnesses saw Sherman “make a beautiful belly landing in a plow-rolled field” after deftly avoiding a grove of trees 3/4 to 1.5 miles south of the airdrome.
