The American Air Museum in Britain 501(c)3

The American Air Museum in Britain is a registered 501(c)3 organization - a tax-exempt nonprofit organization in the United States. It supports the work of the museum located in the UK, the educational programme that the museum runs in the USA and the UK and this website.

The American Air Museum tells the story of US air power based in the UK, its effect on people and the modern world, with a particular focus on the Second War World in Europe.

It stands as a memorial to nearly 30,000 US airmen who gave their lives while flying from British bases – including RAF Duxford – during War World II, and is the only memorial museum of its kind outside the United States.

At a time when the generation who created this history is sadly decreasing in number and as these events become distant history to younger generations, it is vital that their stories and the memory of their sacrifices are passed on.
